Work Achieved Last Week
At the churchyard we cleared away the lower growth on the beech trees on the western boundary. We also corrected the gate latch on the Harding gate, and loosened the bolt on the shed behind Church House. Also I should mention that the week before we took 18 bags of cuttings from the churchyard to Ben Cole's farm (but I forgot too record it). At the Memorial Hall we began to fit some conduit to hide the sound loop in the lounge. At the football pavilion we fixed roofing felt against the back wall and tipped one ton of gravel into the void by the tree roots. On the day before, in overtime, Mick and I fetched the ton of gravel and left it at the top of the rec overnight. At the west end of the village the keen siding out team progressed further up the High Street. Not much further (farther?). Keith did a survey of the benches to see if the summer programmes has finished the job. In overtime, in the rain, some of us helped Sue Davies rake grass and plant more stuff. This was at the ''Football Rec'' despite having been misdirected to the ''Cricket Pitch Rec''. SORRY.
