* The Memorial Hall Committee gave us a donation of £250, and the Parish Council voted a donation of £400 at their last meeting. Thank you both. * I emailed the White Horse Committee to say we would in principle help with any refurbishment if the project takes off. I did say our skills are many but not for commercial quality restaurant decor. (Hope that's OK). I have had a reply and am meeting Neil in the New Year to hear what they want to do in Phase 1, and tell them which bits we could help with. * Andy and I met with the family who are funding a new bench to go in the churchyard, down near the bins, and am progressing that. Probably will be a month or too before everything is agreed with the authorities. Last Tuesday 13th December We had a superb Christmas lunch. Can't wait for next year. Last Wednesday 14th December We did jobs in the Dacre Rooms - Christmas lights installed over the porch, fresh guttering installed, lamp timer reset, furniture moved about. We removed loads of dead wood and ivy from the East hedge of the Rec and burned it on a bonfire. We zoomed to the Memorial Hall and removed a lock on the front of stage doors, subsequently I replaced it and gave the MONKEYS lady a new key. That will hopefully do until Roger gets the new front of stage in place.

Progress Achieved Wednesday 23rd November
My goodness we shifted an enormous amount of branches and ivy from behind Church House and from the John Lewis tree branch. Well done everybody, particularly Simon who did the sawing up. The bonfire is ENORMOUS. Behind Church House does look better, but I would like to improve it yet more. We also had a look at the leaking Dacre Rooms roof. |
