Work Done Last Week At the Churchyard we cleared the church house roof, drain outlets and grids, of leaves as well as the bottom gulleys. We also raked up several one ton bags of leaves. For the Kimpton Xmas market we fetched the Xmas sleigh, some traffic warning banners and a very large cold box from the Porters End store. We erected the sleigh on The Green. We put up the Xmas lights at the school and could not get the timer to work - the lights stayed on all the time. But in overtime Gordon and I put another timer in the circuit and now all is well. We completed the work on the Xmas lights on Church Path. We reset the dog poo bin at the top of Wren Close steps, in a large lump of concrete this time - as I write it is still there, but nearly full already! We went to The Rec to rake up the leaves under the conker trees to burn them, but found that DaveD and PeteD had already raked them into the hedge, in overtime. But it is a big job to burn them - lots of leaves, we only managed to burn about 20% of them, perhaps. There is also the problem of leaving a hot bonfire on the Rec where people may wander. In overtime BobF took the new defibulator to Peters Green, two trips because half of it was not delivered first time. Guy at the Bright Star is going to install it.
