i/c 3 Calling
Progress Wed 31st May More of Church House cladding & barge board painted Les & JohnM working on soffits Church gutters & gullies cleared of vegetation, ready for architects 5 year inspection. Next Wed 7th June i/c 3 is also having a WER, living with the Druids in the stone circle at Avebury for a week! Jon Marsh will find jobs at the Dacre Rooms at 9.30 am for any poor serfs who haven’t got a WER to go to. i/c3 Calling May 24th Under a blistering sun Les & JohnM replaced the exit handrail to Church House, and the post to the play area fence. Both have very smart metal shoes now. The rest of us kept in the shade as much as possible, continuing with the washing down & staining of the cladding, clean down and prime/undercoat the barge boards and soffits. Still a lot of work to be done up there – the high level wooden windows will be very fiddly! Paul joined us for coffee, his leg is still mending. May 7th Lots done around the May Festival. Particularly the art Show screens up and down. Last Wednesday we carried on with the soffit repair, glossed the barge boards and continued with staining the cladding. it looks much, much better. Still more to do. We zoomed to Peters Green hall to weed kill in the car park and removed some fallen branches. Progress April 28th Monday we erected the art show screens, well done and thank you to everyone who turned up, particularly John P who did preparatory work and supervised on the day. Despite me panicking that we would have too many people it was just right. Big job. Next year we will be doing it on the Sunday afternoon so more younger people can (hopefully) be there. On Wednesday at Church House we replaced some of the soffits, and repaired a barge board. We sanded and primed/undercoated the South and East barge boards as well as the side door, and stained the East elevation cladding and some of the South. Keith and his team did more benches ready for the May Festival. Some members were hijacked to do things at the Dacre Rooms.
