An amazing amount done despite the weather forecast.
We fitted the corner protectors in the Green Room corridor, cut both the Eastern and Western hedges and removed the arisings, we cleared much of the perimeter and paths of sidings, and varnished the flower stands in the church, PAT tested the equipment in Church House (except that Jon had already done it but had forgotten - they did find an appliance that had not been done though - so not all lost). Later I went and secured the Peters Green toilet door so it could not be used (rotten floor). During the last week Jon and David fixed the broken Dacre Rooms clock. Future We have been asked to do games (primarily for the children) in the garden on the afternoon of the Autumn Show. Saturday 2nd September. Volunteers? We will also be putting out the tables on the previous Friday evening, and putting them away on the Saturday after the show. I expect they want us to put out the signs for the show - I will leave that with I/C2.

Progress Last Week
* We fitted the new Neighbourhood Watch signs around the village * We repaired rails and installed new posts on Parkfield Rec car park fence * We top coated most of the top windows at Church House * We cleared the area around the NW and SW churchyard gates * We cleared yet more ivy from graves * We fitted new cigarette bins at the Memorial Hall Thursday Last Thursday we set out tables for the County WI tea and put them away too. Last Wednesday 12th and Saturday 15th and Sunday 9th
Last Wednesday we did some jobs at the Memorial hall - stopping light flickering in archive room, cleared the gutters, freed the door scraping, (the one into the hall from the lobby), cleared out the cigarette boxes and decided to buy new ones, confirmed that there is no insulation over the lounge. We also washed and sanded the upper windows at Church House and applied primer/undercoat to the bare wood. THEN we cut the hedge on the Eastern boundary of the Churchyard and took all four (or was it five?) 1 ton bags of clippings to the bonfire site. Andy wielding his hedge trimmer - do we owe you something for petrol Andy? On Sunday 9th we erected and took down two marquees for the Great Kimpton Bake-Off, we also judged the boat competition. On Saturday 15th we judged the sheds at the Kimpton Allotment competition. Progress Last Wednesday
We filled the skip with rubbish from the allotments, we cleared the perimeter of the Memorial Hall car park, but might need another tidy, due to weather. We looked at the damage to the Green Room corridor walls , caused by the chair trolleys, and thought of a possible solution. A job for the future. We helped erect the signs for the Folk Festival, this took much longer than anticipated, perhaps discuss with Gordon on Wednesday a different plan for next time. We fetched a load of dumped domestic garden rubbish from Parkfield Rec car park and took to the bonfire. Carina - what can we do to stop this dumping? i/c 3 Calling for the last time
